International Day for the Abolition of Slavery - UK Businesses Must now Take Steps to Tackle Modern Slavery

Today is the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery, and marks the anniversary of the decision of the UN General Assembly to adopt the United Nations Convention for the Suppression of the Traffic in Persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of Others (resolution 317(IV) of 2 December 1949). Whilst many of us feel far removed from the widespread slavery of the past, modern forms of slavery still exist in the UK and are fuelled by businesses and consumers.

What to do If You Have been Affected by Asbestos - Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Last month saw another successful Lung Cancer awareness campaign take place across the UK. Over the course of November, awareness was raised through local community events, fundraising activities and online campaigns. It is important to remember however, that lung cancer affects people throughout the year, and so continuing to raise awareness of the disease is important - especially, symptoms, causes and what can be done if you contract the disease as a result of someone else's negligence. Here at Unlock the Law we would like to contribute to raising awareness in this respect, by giving you some valuable information about what you can do if you contract lung cancer as a result of asbestos exposure.
